The Pitts S-2A Biplane was at one time the top aerobatic performer in the USA with its 200 hp fully inverted fuel and oil system. Designed by Curtis Pitts, it evolved from a single seat 100 hp biplane to a 300 hp 2 seater sold today. This 2-place aircraft has now become a highly desirable trainer for aerobatics, so that a pilot may later step into the more powerful monoplanes now ruling the aerobatic circuit. It will remain as one of the most highly recognizable airshow aircraft by its distinctive styling and desire of every pilot to have flown a "Pitts Special".
